ABOUT NICK JANKOVSKIS

Nick is a sports scientist who specialises in problem-solving human performance by taking an evidence-based approach toward enhancing the preparation, competition and recovery of athletes.

Nick’s area of focus is predominantly in endurance performance, utilising physiological testing and strategic training methodology to optimise an athlete’s output over long distances. Having delivered over well over 1500 Physiological assessments (i.e. VO2max, Blood lactate analysis etc) Nick’s rarely matched experience in practical & applied endurance physiology ensures athletes are afforded an environment to perform optimally come race day.

Professional Experience

Nick has provided sports performance consulting to athletes and coaches across a wide array of sports at the professional, elite and amateur levels, including Olympic distance runners, professional and top age-group triathletes, and numerous team sport athletes.

Importantly, Nick is committed to his own continuous education through formal tertiary studies, professional accreditations, attendances at conferences & seminars. A highlight being his 2016 trip to the USA to volunteer & learn within the University of Michigan S&C department (Olympic Sports) gaining exposure to world leading athletic development processes across a wide variety of sports including Softball, Baseball, Track & Field, Cross Country, Swimming, Soccer and Lacrosse.

Nick’s Athletic Career

Not only is Nick passionate about supporting athletes toward becoming their best, but he himself is also an elite athlete in pursuit of a career as an AFL Field Umpire. Accumulating upwards of 14-16km per game and requiring the ability to make split-second accurate decisions in high-pressure situations, Nick’s experience officiating Australian Football enables him to relate closely to how athletes feel, problem solve accurately and efficiently and have a thorough understanding of how to execute performances in high pressure environments.
